Continuing with the welfare measures, Police Headquarters has been making efforts for assisting retired Policemen, SPOs and NoK’s of deceased Police personnel of J&K Police in their hard times.
As a part of this welfare measure, Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Dilbag Singh has granted financial assistance/medical relief of over rupees thirteen lakh in favour of 53 Police personnel which include retired Policemen, SPOs and NoK’s of deceased Police personnel to compensate the expenses in connection with self treatment, treatment of their dependents or marriage of their wards. The financial assistance/welfare relief has been granted vide PHQ order numbers 3300 & 3301 of 2019.
Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned welfare relief of Rs. 5,10,000/- in favour of 31 retired Police/NoK’s of Police personnel to compensate the unavoidable expenses for self treatment and treatment of their dependents.
Rupees 4.25 lakh have been provided for self treatment to twenty retired Police personnel for self treatment or treatment of their dependents, suffering from life threatening diseases. Similarly Rupees 85,000 thousand has been sanctioned in favour of five NoK’s of deceased Police personnel to assist them in the hour of need.
The relief amount of rupees 95,000 has been sanctioned in favour of six retired Policemen for the marriage of their daughter/son to cater their urgent needs. The amount has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.
Under PHQ Order No. 3300 of 2019 rupees 8,07,084 as financial assistance/medical relief has been sanctioned in favour of 22 SPOs posted at different districts viz Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam, Doda, Reasi, Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian, Ganderbal and Kupwara out of Police Pariwar Fund and SPOs Contributory Fund.
The assistance in favour of these SPOs has been sanctioned at different rates to pay the expenses in connection with self treatment or treatment of their dependents.
Police Headquarters has been sanctioning financial assistance/welfare relief, loan, rewards and scholarships under different heads as welfare measure for the retired Policemen, NoKs of deceased Police personnel, serving and SPOs. This year till date over rupees 27 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of retired Police personnel and over rupees 13 lakh have been sanctioned in favour of SPOs of J&K Police.
